Our big accomplishments were as follow:
1. Trotted a lot more than in previous rides--he's starting to get the hang of it and isn't wanting to break into the canter the entire time (mostly).
2. He crossed water MUCH better, although there's still a lot of room for improvement. It was much, much better than last week, though.
3. We lead, we were in the middle, and we took up the rear. He did great in all spots.
4. We jumped a few small logs--not ideal, but he does very well. Sort of gets up on his haunches, hangs, and then LEAPS! Very smooth, actually. Smoother than it sounds. :)
5. He learned that he didn't have to look at every twig in the path while we were trotting.
6. He was much more rate-able at the canter, and settled into a nice, easy pace behind George and PJ.
The most amazing part of this ride though was just as we were leading and trotting up the road back to PJ's house, I experienced his power trot. It was so incredible and powerful I started whooping! He just sank down, extended out and covered ground in the most amazing way. I knew he had it, I just hadn't found a way to get him to "click" into it before. It was seriously the most incredible thing I've ever experienced with a horse. It was like he suddenly revved up into another gear I didn't know existed! Talk about exhilarating...
